Bailey James has a sound that is instantly recognizable and pro level. Her bluesy and colorful voice hits the mark on this swinging 6/8 jam! Her voice is tamed, yet raw and with excellent control. I love the way she extends and bends up into her notes. Her power is the perfect match for this dynamite production. “Finally Free” hits on all cylinders!

Hi Bailey, welcome to LA Music Review
Tell us a little bit about you and your music.

country singer Bailey James of Heart Songs
Singer-songwriter Bailey James

Hello VQS! Thank you for having me! I’m Bailey James a country/blues singer songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. I started music at the young age of 11, and I have been chasing that dream ever since.

Congrats on the release! What was your inspiration for this new song?

Released 6/04/21. “Finally Free” was about about a big breakup. This was my first real one. I was in that young crazy love, but he was too nice and then I got bored. The breakup transformed me into a more grown version of myself though.

What lessons would you like to impart with your audience?

To free yourself from your mistakes, grow out of all that mess. My vision was to show my fans that I know who I am, and exactly what I want to sing. So I hope the lesson they take away from this is to learn from your mistakes, and grow from the pain.

What is your favorite part of the song?

A lyric in the chorus most people don’t catch. “Cause you broke my heart into peace.”

Anything else we should know about it? Future releases?

The Opry named “Finally Free” Circle Song of the Week. Pretty amazing.
